Installation
Keep Thy Heart Bible Reader runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux. Download the installer for your platform from the downloads page.

Windows
Run the downloaded .exe. The installer lets you choose the installation directory and creates desktop and Start Menu shortcuts.
Because the installer is not yet code-signed, Windows SmartScreen may warn that the publisher is unrecognized. Choose More info → Run anyway to proceed.
macOS
Open the .dmg and drag the app to your Applications folder.
The app is not yet notarized, so macOS Gatekeeper will refuse to open it on first launch. Right-click the app and choose Open, then confirm — you only need to do this once.
Linux
Make the AppImage executable and run it:
chmod +x Keep Thy Heart-*.AppImage
./Keep Thy Heart-*.AppImage
No installation step is required; the AppImage is self-contained.
First launch
The app opens to John 3 with a Bible translation already installed, so you can start reading immediately. Continue with the Quick Start for a tour of the window, then Installing Modules to add commentaries, dictionaries, and further translations.
Updating
There is no automatic updater yet. To move to a new version, download the latest installer and run it over your existing installation.
Your notes, highlights, and bookmarks are stored separately from the application and are not affected by an update. All the same, back them up before upgrading.
Uninstalling
- Windows — Settings → Apps, or the uninstaller in the installation directory.
- macOS — drag the app from Applications to the Trash.
- Linux — delete the AppImage file.
Uninstalling does not remove your notes and highlights. Export them first if you want to keep them; delete the application data directory if you want them gone.
